Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research aims to analyze the management of social forestry as a solution to deforestation in Indonesia. The problem of deforestation in Indonesia seems never end, has always been a concern of many parties, so the Government offers a social forestry program through Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation which is claimed to be the right solution to deal with the problem of deforestation. This type of research includes socio-legal studies, which is conducting a sociological study of the results of observations in the community especially forest farmer groups based on Community Forests (CF). As the result, the CF-based social forestry program implemented in Kalibiru could be an alternative solution to dealing with the problem of deforestation in Indonesia. In general, community-managed social forestry is more effective than state-run one.
